Sustainable energy communicator with over three years experience in partnership strategies, advocacy, and project coordination in south-south cooperation and emerging economies. Ana’s work is focused on promoting sustainable development by building multi-stakeholder partnerships for change. She has coordinated pluri-disciplinary, multi-cultural project teams, authored sustainable energy and development reports, and led international representation and thought leadership missions on sustainable energy promotion across the world. Until recently, Ana was building cross-Mediterranean cooperation initiatives for sustainable energy promotion in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Dual citizen of Belgium and Mexico, speaks five languages, and has work experience in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa.

Project Coordinator, Diesel to Solar (D2S) Initiative
Developing a regional project in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to retrofit solar PV into diesel-based off-grid and mini-grid power systems in the Arab region. The project aims to achieve poverty alleviation and increased food and water security by demonstrating the technical, financial, economic viability and environmental and social benefits of solar energy for small and medium off-grid power systems in the Arab region.
Contributing Researcher and Launch Organizer, Arab Future Energy Index (AFEX)
AFEX is a policy assessment and benchmarking tool that provides a comprehensive assessment of the current state of renewable energy and energy efficiency development in the Arab region. Countries are ranked under more than 30 indicators pertaining to key energy market aspects including energy pricing, strategies, policies, incentive mechanisms, institutions and investments.
